WHAT THIS IS
Carbon fiber track-oriented housing running the Pro 5R oiled media. It replaces the factory airbox on the 392 with a sealed aFe housing and a high-flow filter, so the engine draws cooler air through a less restrictive path than stock.
Pro 5R is aFe’s oiled cotton gauze media, the higher-flow of their two options. It needs re-oiling after each cleaning.
The housing seals to the hood so the filter is pulling from outside the engine bay rather than from hot underhood air. That is the whole point of the swap: on a 392 the factory box is already reasonably good, so the gain here comes from a bigger filter, a smoother tube and a cooler air source, not from simply removing a restriction.
It is a hand-tool install on the stock mounting points with no cutting and no tune required. Nothing about it is permanent, so the factory airbox goes back in whenever you want it to.
