Trim is a filter, not a separate catalogue. Chassis parts fit the whole platform, so the engine decides whether an intake, exhaust or tune carries over.

The S650: what changed from the S550

The 2024 Mustang kept the S550 bones and changed almost everything you touch. Ford stayed with the 5.0L Coyote and the 2.3L EcoBoost rather than moving to a new engine family, so a lot of the engineering knowledge carries over, but the body, the electrical architecture and the interior are new. That matters when you are buying: chassis and suspension parts are often close to their S550 equivalents, while body panels, lighting and anything that plugs into the car are S650 specific.

The headline addition is the Dark Horse, which sits above the GT with a stronger block, its own aero and a chassis setup borrowed from the track cars. It shares most bolt-on chassis parts with the GT, but several front-end body parts are unique to it. Where S650 owners start

Sound and breathing

On the GT and Dark Horse, an axle-back or cat-back is the most common first purchase, followed by an intake. The active valve exhaust on the GT means you should check which system works with it before ordering. On the EcoBoost, the intake and a downpipe are where the meaningful gains are.

Handling

Lowering springs or coilovers, sway bars and camber plates. The S650 carries over enough of the S550 rear geometry that the aftermarket moved quickly here, and this is the cheapest place to make the car feel different.

Aero and appearance
