Reimagining the McLaren 750S: A Collaboration with NOVITEC and M-Engineering

The 2024 McLaren 750S is already a pinnacle of engineering. But at Function Factory Performance, we don’t believe in “stock.” This build goes beyond a simple parts list—it’s a total rebuild. Every upgrade was carefully selected to enhance performance, refine handling, and deliver a sound that matches the car’s presence, all without compromising reliability.

Over the last couple of months, we’ve had the privilege of working on this 750S for an incredible client, Ryan, who trusted us to bring his vision to life. And the best part? This build isn’t finished yet—there’s even more on the way.

NOVITEC supplied the suspension and exhaust—comprising springs, an Inconel X-Pipe, race downpipes, and gloss carbon tips—sharpening handling and delivering an aggressive yet refined soundtrack. M-Engineering’s Motorsport and Stage 2+ packages, paired with 1050x ID injectors, work with BMC air filters and WEISTEC spark plugs to ensure consistent, track-ready power, while AL13 wheels provide lightweight strength and style. Together, these upgrades create a balanced package of power, control, and reliability.

Performance That Speaks Louder Than Words

At the core of this build is the NOVITEC Inconel X-Pipe Exhaust paired with Race Downpipes—a combination engineered to redefine the 750S’ sound and performance completely. These components reduce weight, improve exhaust flow, and allow the engine to breathe freely, delivering sharper throttle response and a more aggressive, track-ready character. The result is a soundtrack that evolves with every rev: smooth and commanding at low speeds, and exhilaratingly raw at full throttle—transforming the car from a refined supercar into a motorsport symphony. (Neighbors might not thank you, but trust us—they’ll remember it.)

Attention to detail extends to the Gloss Carbon Exhaust Tips, which not only enhance the car’s visual presence but also complement the performance upgrades by providing optimal heat resistance and airflow efficiency. Every element of the NOVITEC exhaust system was carefully selected to work in harmony with the rest of the build, resulting in a top-tier aftermarket exhaust that enhances both power delivery and acoustic presence.

Control, Power, and Precision Tuning

Hardware is nothing without software, and that’s where M-Engineering’s Motorsport Package and Stage 2+ Tune truly shine. These packages take the 750S beyond factory limits, unlocking its full potential with precision calibration that balances maximum performance and long-term reliability. Upgraded 1050x injectors enable the engine to breathe more deeply and deliver harder fueling, resulting in consistent, track-ready power while maintaining smooth drivability on the street.

To ensure every adjustment was perfect, we put the McLaren 750S on Specialty Z’s Dynojet dyno in Simi Valley to measure and fine-tune the power output. Runs were completed on both 91-octane pump gas and E85, highlighting the versatility of the Stage 2+ package.

On 91 octane California pump gas, the 750S produced 759 whp and 619 lb-ft of torque, a solid baseline for daily driving. Switching to E85 unlocked even more performance, with the car laying down 875 whp and 642 lb-ft of torque, perfect for when maximum output is the goal.

Note* M-Engineering commented that this Dyno-Jet is reading roughly 50 WHP lower than most dynos.

And while those numbers are impressive, there’s reason to believe even more power is still on the table—the dyno session wasn’t 100% configured at the time. That means the 750S is already a powerhouse, but with additional refinement, it could be an even stronger performer.

The dyno sheets shown here make the results undeniable: the Stage 2+ tune translates directly into serious, measurable gains on both fuels.

Every adjustment is carefully mapped to optimize torque, throttle response, and overall engine dynamics—transforming the 750S from an already capable supercar into a vehicle that feels fully alive. Acceleration is seamless, gear shifts are razor-sharp, and the car is engineered for precision, providing assured control in every situation.

Whether carving through corners, hitting high-speed straights, or enjoying a spirited drive, the M-Engineering software ensures every aspect of the car’s performance is maximized. Combined with NOVITEC’s exhaust and suspension upgrades, the Stage 2+ tune not only enhances the car—it elevates the driving experience, making every journey purposeful and unforgettable. And yes, your passenger will notice—but in the best way possible.

Sharper Handling, Meaner Stance

A build this powerful deserves handling to match. NOVITEC Springs lower the 750S to a more aggressive, purposeful stance, reducing body roll and sharpening cornering precision. Every turn feels more controlled, every apex more approachable, giving the driver confidence that the car will respond exactly as intended. Beyond performance, the lowered stance transforms the car’s presence—every angle conveys power and purpose, making the 750S look as fast as it drives.

Complementing this setup are AL13 forged wheels. Lightweight, track-tested, and designed to minimize unsprung weight, these wheels enhance responsiveness, improve steering feedback, and enable the suspension to work at its full potential. They’re not just a visual upgrade—though they look incredible—they’re a key performance component that directly contributes to sharper handling and a more connected driving experience. Paired with the NOVITEC springs, the wheels complete the package, giving the 750S a more aggressive stance, improved agility, and enhanced confidence and control in every turn.

Reliability Built Into Every Detail

Performance isn’t just about raw power—it’s about consistency, precision, and confidence that your car will deliver every time you push it. Supporting mods like BMC Air Filters and WEISTEC Spark Plugs play a critical role in achieving that. The BMC filters optimize airflow, ensuring the engine breathes clean and efficiently, which translates to smoother throttle response, more consistent combustion, and ultimately better performance under every condition. Meanwhile, WEISTEC Spark Plugs provide reliable ignition, maintaining consistent firing even under the extreme heat and stress of spirited driving or track sessions.

These components might not grab headlines like an exhaust or custom wheels, but they are the backbone of a build that performs hard without compromise. Together, they keep the 750S reliable, responsive, and ready for every drive—whether navigating winding roads or pushing it to the limit on the track. Rest assured, your car will fire up just fine the next day, no matter how hard you tried it on the track. These upgrades go beyond basic components—they ensure consistent performance, precise throttle response, and dependability for drivers who demand the full potential of their 750S.

Every component is engineered to extract more power, deliver sharper handling, and create a more immersive driving experience, elevating the 750S to levels the factory never intended.
