Backorder Policy

When we say "backorder," here's exactly what that means—and what you can expect from us.

What "Backorder" Actually Means

When we say your part is on backorder, it means the manufacturer and all major warehouses are currently out of stock. In 2025, the supply chain is much healthier than the COVID era… but certain performance parts are still produced in small batches, and they sell out fast.

When new inventory lands at a warehouse, it gets assigned using First In, First Out. Oldest orders ship first. Newest orders wait for the next batch.

Example

ZL1 Addons diffusers are famous for selling out. If you preorder, you're in line. If you wait for "in stock," you'll always be at the bottom of the list—meaning a longer wait every cycle.

If you don't have it, someone else must have it in stock.

Sometimes, yes—you may get lucky. But in this industry, most stores don't stock product physically. They drop-ship from the same handful of manufacturers and distributors we all rely on. If the main suppliers are out, everyone is out.

Our priority is always the same: get your part shipped as fast as humanly possible.

We do everything we can to track real availability, but keep in mind:

  • Many parts are built to order
  • Some brands run small-batch manufacturing
  • Hot items sell out instantly
  • Inventory systems aren't perfect across the industry

Can I Cancel If I Find It Somewhere Else?

Yes—you can cancel. But here's the thing: verify they truly have it on the shelf.

We've seen:

  • Inventory mistakes
  • Double sales
  • "In stock" pages that aren't actually live inventory

If you cancel your order with us to reorder elsewhere, you will lose your place in line—and if the other retailer is pulling from the same supply chain, you may end up waiting longer.

I was given an ETA but now it's pushed back. Why?

Welcome to manufacturing. Even in 2025—with much better logistics—delays still happen because:

  • Brands underestimate production time
  • Material shortages occur
  • Paint/carbon/finishing batches get rejected
  • Containers get held
  • Small performance companies get overwhelmed during busy seasons

We do not make up ETAs. We pass along what manufacturers give us. Some brands are extremely accurate; others are optimistic. We try to give you the most honest, realistic information possible.

What If Only One Item Is Backordered?

We ship what we can, when we can.

If 9 out of 10 items are ready, we'll ship the 9 right away and keep you updated on the last one. For international orders or large freight shipments, we may hold items to reduce your shipping costs and simplify the delivery.

Live Inventory Disclaimer

FFPerformance.co does not display live inventory due to:

  • Hundreds of thousands of SKUs
  • Hundreds of manufacturers
  • Multiple warehouse locations
  • Mix of in-house, dropship, and direct-from-vendor fulfillment

If you need a part by a certain date—track day, dyno appointment, tuning day, event—contact us first. We'll verify availability before you order.

How We Notify You

If a part in your order is confirmed to be on backorder, we will email you using the address on your order. Manufacturers vary in how quickly they update us, but we consistently follow up, track orders, and push for updates so you're never left in the dark.
