About aFe Power — Advanced FLOW Engineering
aFe Power (Advanced FLOW Engineering) has been designing, engineering, and manufacturing performance parts in Corona, California since 1999. What started as an air filter company in a 3,200-square-foot space has grown into one of the most comprehensive performance brands in the industry, operating from over 200,000 square feet of manufacturing, R&D, and warehouse space across Southern California and Indianapolis.
Every aFe Power product is designed, tested, and manufactured in the USA. Their engineering team uses dyno testing, CFD analysis, and ISO 5011 filtration testing to validate every intake, exhaust, and suspension component before it reaches your vehicle. With over 2,500 applications covering trucks, muscle cars, sports cars, and imports, aFe has earned two SEMA Global Media Awards and supplies parts to enthusiasts, professional builders, and race teams worldwide.
aFe Power Product Lines
Cold Air Intakes
aFe’s intake lineup is one of the most extensive in the industry. The Momentum GT features a sealed housing with 360-degree radial airflow for maximum filtration and power gains. The Magnum FORCE Stage-2 uses an open-element design with roto-molded housing for aggressive airflow. For show-quality builds, the Track Series and Black Series use hand-laid carbon fiber construction. The Takeda line covers Japanese and import platforms including Supra, BRZ, and Civic Type R.
Exhaust Systems
The MACH Force-Xp is aFe’s flagship exhaust line — 100% MIG-welded, mandrel-bent 304 stainless steel with smooth transition bends and free-flow mufflers. Available in cat-back and axle-back configurations with polished or black tips. The Twisted Steel line covers headers (short and long tube), while the Vulcan Series and Apollo GT round out the exhaust catalog.
Charge Pipes & Intercoolers
BladeRunner charge pipes and intercoolers are engineered for turbocharged platforms. Aluminum construction with mandrel bends replaces restrictive factory piping, reducing charge air temperatures and eliminating boost leaks. Available for EcoBoost Mustang, Supra, Civic Type R, and more.
Suspension & Chassis
aFe Control covers sway bars, lowering springs, coilovers, strut braces, tow hooks, and leveling kits. The PFADT Series — acquired from PFADT Race Engineering — specializes in Corvette suspension with Johnny O’Connell Signature packages. Sway-A-Way delivers off-road suspension with 2.0” and 2.5” remote-reservoir shocks and coilovers built on 20+ years of desert racing heritage.
aFe Power Filter Media — Pro 5R vs Pro DRY S vs Pro GUARD 7
aFe offers multiple filter media options — a key differentiator from competitors who typically offer only one. Choosing the right media depends on your driving conditions and maintenance preference:
| Filter Media | Layers | Type | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pro 5R | 5-layer cotton gauze | Oiled | Maximum airflow & power — street & track |
| Pro DRY S | 3-layer synthetic | Dry (oil-free) | Low maintenance — no oiling, no MAF contamination risk |
| Pro GUARD 7 | 7-layer cotton + synthetic | Oiled | Dusty environments, off-road, heavy-duty — 99.7% efficiency |
All aFe filters are washable and reusable — clean, re-oil (if applicable), and reinstall. The Pro DRY S option is especially popular because it eliminates the risk of oil contaminating your MAF sensor, a common complaint with oiled cotton filters from other brands.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between aFe Pro 5R and Pro DRY S filters?
Pro 5R is a 5-layer oiled cotton gauze filter that delivers maximum airflow and power gains — ideal for street and track use. Pro DRY S is a 3-layer dry synthetic filter that requires no oiling and eliminates the risk of MAF sensor contamination. Both are washable and reusable. Choose Pro 5R for peak performance or Pro DRY S for low-maintenance convenience.
Are aFe Power cold air intakes CARB legal in California?
Many aFe Power intakes carry a CARB Executive Order (EO) number, making them 50-state legal including California. The CARB status is listed on each product page. Models without a CARB EO are intended for off-road or racing use only. We can help you identify which intakes are California-legal for your specific vehicle.
Will an aFe cold air intake void my warranty?
Under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, a dealer cannot void your entire warranty simply because you installed an aftermarket intake. They must prove that the specific aftermarket part caused the specific failure. aFe Power intakes are engineered to OEM fitment standards and are designed to be a safe, reliable upgrade that should not cause any engine issues.
What is the aFe Momentum GT intake?
The Momentum GT is aFe's premium sealed cold air intake system. It features a one-piece sealed housing that isolates the filter from engine heat, a 360-degree radial flow filter element, and a roto-molded intake tube. The sealed design delivers consistent power gains by ensuring only cool, dense air reaches the engine. Available in Pro 5R (oiled) and Pro DRY S (dry) filter options.
What is the aFe MACH Force-Xp exhaust?
MACH Force-Xp is aFe's flagship exhaust line. Built from 100% MIG-welded 304 stainless steel with mandrel-bent tubing, these systems feature smooth transition bends and free-flow mufflers for maximum exhaust flow and an aggressive tone without drone. Available in cat-back and axle-back configurations with polished or black tips.
Does aFe Power make suspension parts?
Yes. The aFe Control line includes sway bars, lowering springs, coilovers, strut braces, and leveling kits. The PFADT Series specializes in Corvette suspension (acquired from PFADT Race Engineering), and Sway-A-Way covers off-road trucks with remote-reservoir shocks and coilovers. FFP carries the full aFe suspension catalog.
Where are aFe Power products made?
Every aFe Power product is designed, engineered, and manufactured in Corona, California, USA. Their facilities span over 200,000 square feet of manufacturing, R&D, and warehousing space. All products are dyno-tested and validated before release.
Does FFP install aFe Power products?
Yes. Our technicians at our Thousand Oaks, CA shop install aFe intakes, exhausts, charge pipes, and suspension components regularly. We handle everything from bolt-on intake installs to full exhaust and suspension overhauls. Walk-ins welcome or schedule an appointment.
