We offer the BorgWarner EFR High Boost Canister to be used in conjunction with the EFR lineup. These wastegates are built by BorgWarner specifically for the EFR line for proper opening pressures. One of the features that they’ve built into these that makes adjustments a snap is that for every rotation of the adjustment nut equates to exactly 1mm of stroke. Below is a chart summarizing the preload to full stroke capability to opening pressures.
| Rod Spring Preload (nut turns) | Full Stroke Capability (mm) | Crack-Open Pressure | Full Stroke Pressure |
| 0 | 17 | 16.8 psi | 32.3 psi |
| 1 | 16 | 17.3 psi | 32.3 psi |
| 2 | 15 | 17.6 psi | 32.3 psi |
| 3 | 14 | 17.8 psi | 32.3 psi |
| 4 | 13 | 17.9 psi | 32.3 psi |
| 5 | 12 | 18.1 psi | 32.3 psi |
| 6 | 11 | 18.6 psi | 32.3 psi |
| 7 | 10 | 19.0 psi | 32.3 psi |
| 8 | 9 | 19.3 psi | 32.3 psi |
| 9 | 8 | 19.4 psi | 32.3 psi |
| 10 | 7 | 19.6 psi | 32.3 psi |
There are two different high boost canisters available depending on the exact model of the turbo. Please choose the correct model for your application.
Note 1: Avoid too little preload. The diaphragm can rub (and wear) against the top of the can. BW recommends 2 mm of preload as a starting point.
Note 2: Avoid too much preload. The actuator won’t have enough remaining stroke and the wastegate valve opening angle (hence flow capacity) will be limited.
Note 3: When using solenoid valve boost control, the signal pressure that the WG canister sees can be bled off. Select a canister that will allow nearly full stroke.
Note 4: Do not apply more than 31 psi to the high boost canister. This will help to avoid long-term wear.
