Before You Start
Direct from Full-Race’s install team — the small things that save the most time on a 3.5L EcoBoost turbo swap.
Prior to removal, spray penetrating oil on the turbo hardware and let it soak overnight. The factory bolts can be stubborn.
The special spring-clip tool is not mandatory. A small pick will pop the spring clips off easily — just don’t lose them.
Apply anti-seize coating to all threaded surfaces prior to install. Future-you will thank you.
Ensure the oil feed, oil drain, and coolant lines are free of any obstructions. Do not use RTV on these connections.
After installation, crank the engine with the throttle held down 100%. This builds oil pressure in the turbos before the engine actually starts.
Upon first start-up, idle the truck and check carefully for leaks at every connection — downpipe, exhaust manifold, oil feed, oil drain, coolant lines.

Is this an OEM Ford turbo or aftermarket?

Do I have to send my old turbos back?
