2-Piece Lightweight Front Rotors — 370mm M Performance Fitment
Bolt-on weight savings for any BMW running the F30 M Performance Caliper 370mm front kit. ECS’s 2-piece semi-floating rotor pairs a hard-anodized 6061 aluminum hat with a heat-treated cast iron friction ring — killing 2 lbs per axle of unsprung mass while resisting warping under serial track laps. Lifetime replacement on the friction ring backed by ECS for the original owner.
Caliper requirement: These rotors are sized for the BMW M Performance / M Sport 370mm front caliper. Designed for 1-Series, 2-Series, 3-Series, and 4-Series BMWs that have been retrofitted with the F30 M Performance Big Brake Kit (or any car running that exact caliper geometry). Will NOT fit factory 1-Series, 3-Series, or 4-Series brakes — check your caliper before ordering.

Quicker Acceleration, Sharper Turn-In
Reducing unsprung weight reduces rotational inertia at the corner. Lighter wheels-up means less work for the suspension, faster acceleration, shorter braking distances, more responsive handling under transitions.
Warp Resistance Under Heat
One-piece rotors fight heat fluctuations with mass — and warp anyway under track use. The 2-piece semi-floating design allows the cast iron ring to expand radially against the aluminum hat without warping, extending service life dramatically.
Heat Out, Pad Surface Clean
Cross-drilled holes promote ventilation through the rotor face. Slots scrape pad transfer film, water, and brake dust off the friction surface. Cleaner pads bite faster and more consistently. Drilled holes are chamfered and slots ball-end-milled to prevent stress-crack initiation.
Construction Details
- Aluminum hat: 6061-T6 aircraft-grade, hard-anodized matte black for durability and corrosion resistance
- Friction ring: Gray cast iron — the gold-standard material for stable friction characteristics across temperature swings
- Heat treatment: Each ring is heat-treated for additional stiffness and warp resistance
- Surface prep: Non-friction surfaces (vents, hat) are painted to resist road salt; friction surfaces are precision-ground for parallel-plane runout and easy pad bedding
- Hardware: Includes ECS Stainless Steel Rotor Set Screws — the OE M8x1.25x14mm screws are notorious for rusting solid; these are a permanent fix

Designed for BMWs running the F30 M Performance Big Brake Kit (370mm) on the front axle. Common host cars include: 1-Series (F20), 2-Series (F22), 3-Series (F30/F31/F34, M3 F80), and 4-Series (F32/F33/F36, M4 F82) where owners have retrofitted the M Performance front kit. Do not order for stock-caliper cars — the rotor diameter and offset are caliper-specific.
Pairs naturally with: matching ECS rear V5 rotors (set 345x24mm), DOT 5.1 brake fluid, performance brake pads. Add an ECS Stainless Steel Brake Line set for full pedal feel.
