Product Overview
The GTD Carbon Fiber Hood turns the 2024-2026 S650 into a proper homage to the Mustang GTD halo car — aggressive center cowl, wide power dome, full vacuum-infused carbon construction. This is a pre-order item with a 7-8 week lead time out of the Muscle Auto Zone shop.
Built from wet carbon over a carbon exoskeleton for maximum rigidity at highway speed, the hood panels are laid up by hand in 2×2 twill carbon and finished with vacuum-infused resin for void-free bonding. Two layers of clear coat protect the weave and give the finished part a deep, glossy face that holds up to daily UV exposure.
Precision molds were taken from 3D CAD scans of the factory 2024-2026 Mustang, so the hood meets OEM hinge points, OEM latch, and OEM weather-seal channels without the trim-and-fit work that plagues cheaper composite hoods. Hood pins are recommended — this is a composite part and the OEM gas struts push harder than a dry carbon hood was designed to absorb. Muscle Auto Zone is not liable for damage from improper install or missing hood pins.

Installation
Two-person hood swap. Professional install is strongly recommended for alignment and hood-pin drilling.
- Hinge transfer from OEM hood.
- Recommended hardware: M6x1.00 14mm bolts (x4) with one washer per mounting location.
- Reuse the OEM heat shield or apply approved heat-shield tape on the underside — raw carbon will cook if left exposed to exhaust manifold heat.
- Skip the factory gas struts — they push too hard on a composite hood. Use a hood prop instead.
- Install hood pins before first drive.
- Allow 3-4 hours for install and alignment.
