The Short Version
MAZ makes the carbon fiber that turns your Mustang into the one people stop and stare at.
Hand-laid in Norwalk, California. Built only for Ford Mustang. Bolts to factory holes. Looks like it came off a GT4 race car because that's literally where the design came from.

What's the Hype With MAZ?
Muscle Auto Zone — everyone calls them MAZ — is a Norwalk, California carbon fiber shop with one obsession: making your Mustang look mean. Every hood, fender, wing, trunk, and bumper in their catalog is built specifically for the S550 (2015-2023) or S650 (2024-2026) chassis. No universal junk. No "fits most" disclaimers. No stuff that’s really for a Subaru.
The design language? Pulled straight from Ford’s GT4 race car and the wide-body Mustang GTD. The GT4-R fenders are based on the actual flares Ford runs in IMSA. The GTD hoods carry the same heat-extracting vents as the road-going GTD. The Dark Horse Wing copies the factory Mustang Performance Parts carbon wing.
“
When MAZ says race-inspired, they mean a specific car — not vague aesthetics.
At FFP we carry the full MAZ catalog — from $110 magnetic paddle shifters that take 5 minutes to install, up to the $3,600 R1 Evo Widebody Kit that turns heads at Cars and Coffee from a block away. Every part is verified for your exact year and trim before it leaves the shop. We install MAZ panels in our Thousand Oaks, CA bay regularly — including hood pin setups, alignment, and the small details that separate a clean install from a hack job.
Why MAZ > Random eBay Carbon
🔬
Real Dry Carbon
Pre-preg dry carbon, autoclave-cured. The kind of layup F1 cars use. Tighter weave. Higher fiber-to-resin ratio. Stiffer + lighter than the wet-layup carbon you find on Amazon.
🎯
Bolts To Stock Holes
Every panel is 3D-scanned off the actual OEM part. Bolt holes, latch positions, trim edges — everything lines up the first time. No drilling. No body filler. No "close enough."
🏁
Race Car DNA
GT4-R fenders = Ford’s IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge bodywork. GTD hood vents = the homologated GTD road car. Dark Horse Wing = the factory MPP carbon wing. The lineage is documented.

Pick Your Path
Not sure where to start? Here’s the cheat sheet most MAZ buyers follow — in order from "easy weekend job" to "this is now a build."
1
The Starter Mod
Magnetic Carbon Paddle Shifters ($110). 5-minute install. No tools. Massive interior glow-up for under a tank of gas.
2
The First Big Move
Carbon Hood ($999–$1,650). Terminator, GTD-style, or GT3. Drops 20+ lbs off the nose, completely changes the front of the car. The mod people notice first.
3
The Aero Pass
Wing or Spoiler + Diffuser ($115–$1,100). Track Pack, Dark Horse, GT4-R, or ducktail — depending on whether you want subtle or "full GT4 cosplay."
4
The Wide-Body Send
GT4-R Fenders or R1 Evo Widebody Kit ($999–$3,600). Now you’ve got a car that stops parking lots. Permanent commitment to the build life.

S550 or S650? — Important: They’re Different.
⚠️
One thing matters before you click checkout: S550 panels DO NOT fit S650 cars. The sheet metal, headlight cutouts, hood scoop, and bumper geometry are all different. Pick your chassis first, panel second.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will an S650 hood fit my 2015-2023 S550 Mustang?
Nope. Same name, same emblem, completely different bodywork. S550 (2015-2023) and S650 (2024-2026) have different hood lengths, latches, fender lines, headlights, and bumpers. Match the chassis first — always. MAZ puts the chassis code right in the product title so it’s hard to mess up. If you’re still not sure which gen you have, hit us up before clicking buy.
Carbon vs fiberglass — which one should I get?
Depends on what you’re building. Some MAZ parts (like the 2018-2023 GT4-R fenders) come in BOTH full pre-preg carbon and fiberglass with carbon vents. Quick rules:
• Track car or carbon-finish build? Go carbon. Lighter, stiffer, shows the weave.
• Painting it body-color anyway? Fiberglass is the smart move. Cheaper, stronger against parking-lot dings, paints the same.
If you’re hiding it under paint, you’re paying for a flex you can’t see.
Do I need hood pins on a carbon hood?
Yes. Get the hood pins. Carbon hoods are way lighter than the steel OEM hood, which means the factory latch is doing its job outside the conditions it was designed for. Hood pins are like $80 of insurance against your hood doing a bird impression at 80 mph. We sell them and we install them.
Will the carbon fade or yellow over time?
Carbon itself? No, it’s fine. The clear coat over the weave is what fades, and MAZ ships with a street-grade clear coat that’s solid for daily driving. If your car lives outside in California sun all year, get ceramic coating or PPF on the high-exposure stuff (hood, roof). One-time job, doubles the life of the finish. Worth it.
Is the GT4-R / GTD lineage actually real or just marketing?
It’s real. Ford runs the Mustang GT4 in IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge. The Mustang GTD is the homologated road version. MAZ’s GT4-R fenders and GTD-style hoods are direct evolutions of those shapes — the wide-body proportions, vent placement, aero break lines all trace back to the racing bodywork. Whether you’re going for the look or actually running track days, the geometry is faithful.
Can I bolt on the R1 Evo Widebody Kit?
Lol no. The R1 Evo Widebody Kit is a full conversion — you have to cut the OEM fenders to clear the wider flares. Plan for bodywork + paint + wheels/tires on top of the kit price. This is a build commitment, not a Saturday job. The kit is preorder right now — talk to us first so we can walk through realistic timeline and budget before you commit.
GTD Hood or GT3 Hood — what’s the difference?
Both are S650 vented hoods, both come from the Ford racing world, but they’re different vibes:
• GTD Hood = mirrors the road-going Mustang GTD. More aggressive vents, pronounced power bulge. Loud.
• GT3 Hood = pulls from the IMSA GT3 program. Slightly cleaner, more subtle, still extracts heat.
Both fit the same S650 cars. Pick GTD if you want maximum visual send. Pick GT3 if you want street-clean with race vents.
Will FFP install MAZ parts for me?
Yes — our Thousand Oaks, CA shop installs MAZ panels weekly. Common jobs: hood swap + hood pins, fender flare conversion, full GT4-R fenders + GTD hood combo, R1 Competizione bumper, Dark Horse wing, full R1 Evo Widebody projects. Every install gets a fitment check, OEM hardware reused where it makes sense, and torque-spec verification. Walk-ins during business hours or hit us up to schedule.
