A sharper side profile for the 8Y RS3.
Audi gave the 8Y RS3 sharp wheel arches and a serious diffuser, but the OEM lower rocker is intentionally restrained — leaving a visual gap between the front lip and rear diffuser. RW Carbon’s Side Skirt Extensions close that gap. The pair runs the full length of the rocker, visually lowering the car and connecting the front and rear aero into one cohesive side line. Built from real carbon fiber, finished with a UV-resistant gloss clear coat to hold up to sun, salt, and daily-driver miles.

Screw-plus-tape install — RW’s own guidance:
- Self-tapping screws into the factory rocker panel — RW’s primary mechanical fastener for the extensions
- 3M double-sided tape bonds the inboard edge for full contact and to keep panel rattles dead
- Test-fit both pieces dry before any tape backing is pulled — verify the extension lines up with the factory rocker seam
- Wipe the mounting area with isopropyl alcohol for the tape to grip clean paint
- Lift or jack stands recommended — gives you proper angle to drive the screws straight
- Pair install — left and right are mirrored; do both sides in one session for symmetry
- Surface temp matters — 60°F+ for proper 3M adhesion; install indoors in cold weather
- Professional install suggested — RW explicitly recommends a pro shop for an even, secure fit
Ceramic-coated cars: The tape area on the inboard edge must be polished or buffed to remove the ceramic layer before install — 3M VHB doesn’t bond reliably to ceramic-coated paint. The rest of the car’s ceramic stays intact; just prep the tape contact strip.

FAQ
Will these fit the Sportback as well as the Sedan?
Yes. Both 8Y RS3 body styles share the same rocker contour; one part number covers both. If you’re on an 8V RS3 (2017–2020), this isn’t the right part — RW makes a separate 8V kit.
Is this real carbon fiber or a wrap?
Real, hand-laid carbon fiber. You’ll see and feel the actual weave through the gloss clear coat — not a printed pattern, not vinyl. Matches the finish on RW’s other RS3 8Y pieces.
Why screws and tape — won’t tape alone hold?
Tape alone is fine on a trunk spoiler that lives in clean airflow. Rockers see road spray, low-curb proximity, and high-pressure car-wash jets. The screws make the bond mechanical, the tape kills micro-vibration, and you get a part that stays put — that’s why RW spec’d both.
What about removing them later — lease return, resale?
The 3M tape lifts cleanly with moderate heat. The screws leave small holes in the factory lower rocker panel — they’re under the car’s natural sight-line and can be plugged or trim-capped, but it’s not a zero-trace install the way a tape-only trunk lip is. Plan accordingly if you’re leasing.
Will it ride too low for steep driveways?
The extensions sit tight to the factory rocker — they don’t extend significantly downward. Ground clearance change is minimal; if you currently clear your driveway in the stock RS3, you’ll still clear it with these installed. Lowered cars on coilovers should mock-fit before final install.
Do I have to install both sides at once?
Yes — the kit is sold as a pair and the look only works symmetrically. Plan to do both sides in one session; alignment is easier when the off-side reference is fresh in your eye.
