McLaren gave the Artura twin-turbo V6 hybrid power and Formula 1 engineering. Then they muted it. This full titanium race exhaust from Valvetronic Designs unlocks the turbo spool, sharpens throttle response, and delivers the race-bred sound profile the Artura should have shipped with — without a single compromise on drivability.
Valvetronic’s own development video walks through the engineering of this system and lets you hear what it actually sounds like on the car at idle, partial throttle, and WOT. Start here before anything else.
The factory Artura exhaust is built for compliance, not character. Heavy steel, restrictive mid-pipe geometry, and active valving that errs on “library quiet” even when you’re past 6,000 RPM. The result is a $300,000 hypercar that sounds like a warm V6 sedan at cruise.
Valvetronic’s titanium race system strips nearly 40 pounds off the back of the car, opens the flow path behind the turbos, and retunes the acoustic signature toward something that actually reflects what’s happening under the hood. Turbo spool tightens noticeably — you feel it in sub-3,000 RPM throttle response before you hear anything. Past 4,500 RPM, the Artura finds a voice that belongs on the hill at Goodwood, not stuck in commute traffic.
Two ways to run this system depending on how aggressive you want the sound and flow to be:
| Configuration | What’s Included | Character | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rear Section Only | Titanium rear section (valve-controlled), factory-matched connections | Noticeably more aggressive at WOT, quiet at cruise. Valve behavior preserved. | Daily-driver Arturas where neighbors matter. Keeps factory refinement intact. |
| + RACE Free Flow Pipes | Rear section + free-flow front pipes (cat-replacement routing) | Faster turbo spool, F1-inspired howl, dramatically more presence at partial throttle | Track-focused builds. Owners chasing real performance gain, not just sound. |
This isn’t “titanium-look” stainless with a coating. The entire race exhaust is built from aerospace-grade Ti-6Al-4V (Grade 5 titanium) — the same alloy used in jet turbine blades and Formula 1 exhaust manifolds. Three real benefits on a hybrid car like the Artura:
38 pounds removed from the rear of the car. On the Artura’s already-rearward hybrid layout, that’s measurable steering response improvement at turn-in.
Titanium handles the Artura’s turbocharged exhaust gas temps without the stress-cracking fatigue you’ll eventually see on thinner-wall stainless race systems.
Titanium rings differently than steel. The overtones are sharper, the midrange is cleaner, and the resonance profile is what gives this exhaust its F1 character — not just volume.
Anodization develops a natural blue/gold heat coloring over time that owners end up preferring to the polished look. Zero corrosion, zero upkeep, holds up in any climate.
Valvetronic designed this system for 100% bolt-on fitment with no modification to the Artura’s chassis, hybrid harness, or emissions sensors. Installation is typically 4-6 hours at a shop familiar with exotic exhaust work. The factory exhaust can be reinstalled any time — handy if you’re leasing, selling, or going back to stock for a dealer service.
All factory O2 sensor locations, V-band connections, and hanger points are preserved. The valve controller ties into the existing Artura exhaust valve harness — no aftermarket controller box, no dash switch cluttering the cabin.
We’ve installed Valvetronic systems on 20+ exotics at our Thousand Oaks facility since 2019. If you’re looking at this exhaust, talk to us before you order — a few things worth knowing:
We’re not a reseller that drop-ships from the warehouse and disappears. FFP specializes in exotic performance — McLaren, Ferrari, Corvette, and high-end Mustang — and we install the same exhausts we sell. Three concrete reasons to order this Artura exhaust from us:
No. Valvetronic designed the free-flow pipes to preserve factory O2 sensor positioning and signal patterns. No codes, no CEL, no warranty concerns on the powertrain. The hybrid system functions identically to factory.
At idle and cruise with the valves closed, the Rear Section Only configuration is ~5-10 dB louder than factory — noticeably more presence, not disruptive. At WOT with valves open, the Rear Section alone picks up roughly 15 dB, and the + Free Flow variant adds another 8-12 dB on top with a markedly different tonal character. Both are well within normal street-legal ranges.
The Rear Section Only configuration provides a modest gain (3-5 HP at peak) with improved throttle response from the valve calibration. The + Free Flow variant unlocks meaningful additional gains (typically 8-15 HP) through reduced exhaust backpressure and faster turbo spool. Gains are most noticeable in the 3,000-5,500 RPM range where the hybrid assist blends with turbo boost.
Yes. Every connection is V-band or factory-matched, zero cutting, zero welding, no permanent modifications to the car. The factory exhaust reinstalls in the same bolt pattern. This matters for lease returns and resale — many Artura owners run aftermarket exhaust and swap back for dealer service appointments.
Valvetronic builds these to order in small batches. Typical lead time is 4-6 weeks from order to shipment. FFP tracks Valvetronic production lots — call us for the most current ETA on your specific configuration.
The Rear Section Only configuration is compliant because the factory catalytic converters remain in place. The + RACE Free Flow Pipes configuration is off-road / track use only in California — it replaces the cat routing for airflow gain and is not CARB-certified. California Artura owners typically run the Rear Section Only for daily use.
Under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, an aftermarket exhaust alone cannot void your powertrain warranty — that’s federal law. Your factory warranty remains intact on the engine, transmission, and hybrid system. McLaren dealers are generally familiar with aftermarket exhaust on Arturas and won’t flag it during service.
You'll get an instant confirmation email with your part details and invoice. We source from a network of authorized suppliers across the country, so lead times vary by brand and part type — we'll send a tracking number the moment your parts move.
Made-to-order builds — carbon fiber bodywork, fabricated systems, custom finish work — run longer than off-the-shelf items because they're built per order. You'll get progress updates throughout the build.
