Trak Racer builds the sim racing cockpits that hold up to real direct-drive force.
Australian-engineered aluminum extrusion chassis. Bolt-together, fully modular, built for 25+ Nm wheelbases, hydraulic pedals, and D-BOX motion. The brand pros run when the rig has to last.
What’s Trak Racer?
Trak Racer is the Australian sim racing brand that built its reputation on cockpits that don’t flex. Their aluminum profile chassis hold up to the high-torque, high-load reality of direct-drive wheelbases (Simucube Pro/Ultimate, Simagic Alpha Ultimate, Fanatec DD Extreme, Moza R21) without the rig wobbling under load. That’s the test that separates the rigs you keep from the rigs you replace.
The lineup spans entry-level wheel stands all the way up to the Alpine Racing TRX — their officially licensed Alpine F1 cockpit — and the TR160 MK4 with D-BOX 4250i motion actuators, the most aggressive bolt-on motion package they sell. We stock the full catalog at FFP — cockpits, seats, monitor stands (single up through quad), wheels, and the haptic bass shaker kits that make pavement transitions feel real.
Why Trak Racer > Generic Sim Stands
Aluminum Profile Construction
40-series and 80-series industrial extrusion — the same stuff CNC machine bases are built from. Bolt-together, T-slot mounting, infinitely upgradeable.
Direct-Drive Ready
Reinforced wheel decks rated for 25+ Nm wheelbases. Simucube 2 Pro / Ultimate, Simagic Alpha Ultimate, Fanatec DD Extreme, Moza R21 all bolt straight in.
D-BOX Motion Compatible
The TR160 MK4 ships ready for D-BOX 4250i actuators. Real haptic motion — pitch, roll, surge — without rebuilding the cockpit.
Modular & Upgradeable
Start with the TR8 Pro Sport Bundle, add a triple monitor stand later, swap to a TR Series seat, add D-BOX. The chassis never has to go.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will a Trak Racer cockpit handle a direct-drive wheelbase?
Yes — that’s the entire design intent. The aluminum-extrusion chassis (TR8 Pro, TR120S V2, TR160 V5/MK4, Alpine Racing TRX) are spec’d for full-torque direct-drive bases including Simucube 2 Pro / Ultimate, Simagic Alpha Ultimate, Fanatec DD Extreme / DD2, and Moza R21. The wheel deck mounts through reinforced 8mm bolts into 80-series aluminum profile — rigidity is dramatically higher than welded-steel hobby rigs. For 30+ Nm setups we recommend the TR160 V5 or Alpine Racing TRX.
What is D-BOX motion and which Trak Racer cockpits support it?
D-BOX is a motion-actuator system that adds pitch, roll, and surge to your cockpit. Real haptic feedback from the road surface — curbs, kerbs, throttle pickup, brake compression. The TR160 MK4 ships motion-ready and we stock the TR160 MK4 + 4× D-BOX 4250i actuator bundle. The 4250i is D-BOX’s newer-generation actuator — quieter, smoother, more dynamic range than the previous 250i. You can also retrofit motion to most other Trak Racer chassis with the right mounting kit.
What is the difference between TR8 Pro, TR120S, and TR160?
All three are aluminum-extrusion cockpits, all three handle direct-drive wheelbases. The differences:
• TR8 Pro — entry to the “Pro” tier. Solid mainstream cockpit, Sport Bundle or Pro Bundle configurations.
• TR120S V2 — mid-Pro. More frame, seat slider standard, triples-ready.
• TR160 V5 / MK4 — top of the Pro line. Most rigid, biggest frame, D-BOX motion ready (MK4).
If you’re budget-conscious and just need a solid rig: TR8 Pro. If you’re running triples and want headroom: TR120S V2. If you want the most rigid base + want to add motion later: TR160 V5/MK4.
What is the Alpine Racing TRX?
The Alpine Racing TRX is Trak Racer’s officially licensed Alpine F1 cockpit — a premium aesthetic build with the same DNA as their flagship simulators, in either Alpine Racing Blue or black. It supports a single integrated monitor (up to 70″) or triple-monitor configurations. The chassis is the same direct-drive-ready aluminum profile as the rest of the lineup — you’re paying for the F1-licensed branding, the premium finish, and the integrated monitor mount.
How big a monitor can I run on a Trak Racer stand?
Depends on the stand:
• Small Triple Stand (800mm) — up to 32″ per panel
• Large Triple Stand (1200mm) — up to 45″ per panel
• Single Monitor Stand — up to 65″ integrated, 70″ on the Alpine TRX integrated mount
• Quad Stand — up to 45″ panels (3 across + 1 on top)
All stands accept VESA 75/100/200 patterns. For ultra-wide single-screen setups (49″ super-ultra-wide) we recommend the Large Single Monitor Stand — the small stand will work but you lose left/right adjustment room.
What pedals can I run with a Trak Racer cockpit?
Anything mainstream including Heusinkveld Sprint, Ultimate+, Simagic P2000 hydraulic, Asetek Invicta, Moza CRP, and Fanatec CSL Elite / V3. The pedal plate accepts standard bolt patterns. For Heusinkveld Ultimate+ specifically (very high brake forces) we recommend the TR160 or Alpine TRX because the lower beam needs to absorb the reaction force without flexing.
Can I add motion to my existing Trak Racer cockpit later?
In most cases yes, especially on TR120S V2, TR160 V5, and Alpine Racing TRX. The TR160 MK4 is the easiest because it ships motion-ready — just bolt the actuators in. For other chassis, contact us first and we’ll spec the right D-BOX or Next Level Racing kit. The aluminum-profile design is specifically built so you can scale up over time without scrapping the chassis.
Does FFP install Trak Racer cockpits?
Yes — our Thousand Oaks, CA shop assembles Trak Racer cockpits, mounts wheelbases & pedals, aligns triple-monitor setups, and tunes D-BOX motion calibration. Most cockpit builds take 3-5 hours; motion sims take a half-day. We can ship the finished rig to you anywhere in the US or you can pick it up and drive it home. Contact us to schedule.
