The PT5862 Gen 2 is Precision’s refreshed take on the 58 mm platform. Same inducer size, upgraded CEA wheel profile, revised bearing spec. Rated at 700 HP — 80 more than Gen 1 — and runs cooler on sustained high-boost pulls. The right answer when the Gen 1 5862 is running out of airflow and you don’t want to step up to a bigger frame.
Competition Engineered Aerodynamics
Gen 2 tightened the blade profile based on a decade of Gen 1 field data. Pressure ratio climbs faster, surge margin widens, and the peak efficiency island shifts toward the actual operating point most tuners run. Back-to-back dyno comparison: Gen 2 makes more power at the same boost pressure than Gen 1 — full stop.
Dual Ceramic Center Section
Updated dual ceramic ball bearing cartridge with Gen 2 specs. Quieter at idle, spools earlier than Gen 1, and rated for higher shaft speeds. This is the bearing you want if you’re pushing the 58 mm wheel past 105,000 RPM on E85 or methanol.
