Product Overview
The UPR Stainless Steel Magnetic Drain Plug replaces the factory plastic or steel plug at the bottom of your catch can with a machined stainless Allen-head plug carrying an embedded neodymium magnet. It gives you a diagnostic edge: anything ferrous that finds its way into your PCV system — ring fragments, cam lobe wear, valve guide material — sticks to this plug instead of riding through the intake into the turbo.
Every catch can service, you pop the plug, inspect what the magnet grabbed, and you know the health of your top end without pulling a valve cover. On a boosted 3.0L EcoBoost or a modified Coyote, that’s meaningful early warning.
Used on a UPR Explorer ST Catch Can? Pairs directly — threads into the existing 1/4″ NPT drain hole on the bottom of the collection cup.

Cannot be combined with the UPR Drain Line Kit (H5032-49) — that kit takes the same 1/4″ NPT port. Choose one or the other.

Installation Notes
Drain the catch can, remove the existing plug, wrap two or three turns of PTFE tape on the male threads of the new plug, and torque it snug (not gorilla-tight — NPT seals on taper, not crush). First service interval afterward, inspect what the magnet pulled. Wipe the magnet clean with a shop rag and reinstall.
