Overview
The UPR 1/4 NPT Drain Valve for Oil Catch Can is the replacement drain valve for UPR catch cans and any tank using a 1/4 inch NPT drain port. Steel body, nickel-plated finish, and a clean quarter-turn action – squeeze the handle and captured oil drains into your pan. Let go and it reseats.
Two variants cover the common install scenarios. The standard drain valve (no barb) is the direct OEM-equivalent replacement – drains into a pan or rag directly. The drain valve with 1/2 inch hose barb adds a push-on fitting so you can plumb a drain line to a remote collection bottle – useful on tight engine bays or track cars where you want to run a dedicated drain tube rather than contort under the engine.

Compatibility
Fits any tank or catch can with a 1/4 inch NPT drain port. Common uses beyond UPR catch cans:

- Teflon tape NOT included – UPR strongly recommends Teflon-taping the male NPT threads on install
Installation
- Time: 5 minutes.
- Difficulty: Hand-tight with a crescent for final snug.
- Tools: Adjustable wrench, Teflon tape.
- Process: Remove the existing drain plug or valve from the 1/4 NPT port. Wrap 2-3 turns of Teflon tape on the new valve’s male threads, thread in hand-tight, snug with the wrench. Do not overtighten – NPT is tapered and will self-seal with moderate torque.
- Leak check: Run the engine 10 minutes, park, inspect the thread joint for seep before driving on.

Compliance
A replacement drain valve is a plumbing component – no emissions impact on its own. If your overall catch can system is non-CARB, the combined install is non-compliant in California. Standalone use on a breather tank or reservoir presents no emissions change.
