Pulled on a Focus RS — 93 octane, stock head + cams, ProCal tune. 518 HP / 435 LB-FT to the wheels. The curve below is the actual NX2 we shipped — not a manufacturer marketing claim.

When the 2016 Ford Focus RS launched, owners got 350 HP from a stock 2.3L EcoBoost — and the AWD chassis was begging for more boost. Precision Turbo’s NX2 is the direct-fit upgrade engineered specifically for the Focus RS: reverse-rotation, dual ceramic ball-bearing, 3-port twin-scroll. It installs like stock, delivers 518 WHP on 93 octane (FFP-tested) and 500+ HP at the flywheel on E85, and bolts directly to the factory Ford downpipe outlet and the OEM intake system — no adapters, no aftermarket downpipe required, no wastegate sourcing.
Years on, the NX2 remains the first bolt-on turbo we recommend for 2016–2018 Focus RS owners. Reverse-rotation. Twin-scroll. AWD-tuned. Bolts to the factory downpipe outlet and OEM intake — no aftermarket downpipe required, no wastegate to source.
The NX2 isn’t a rebadged Chinese turbo in a Precision-stamped box. It’s a full Precision build, assembled in Hebron, Indiana, with the same CEA compressor wheel technology Precision uses on their Pro Mod record-holding turbos. The billet compressor wheel is machined from 2618-aluminum forging — same material grade as their top-tier drag race turbos. Dual ceramic ball bearings in the center section mean faster spool and longer life than the factory journal-bearing turbo it replaces.
The OEM-replacement housings are what make the install so clean. The turbine housing bolts to the factory exhaust manifold. The compressor housing matches the factory charge pipe outlet. The oil feed and drain lines use factory-spec fittings. Nothing to cut, weld, or re-fabricate — you pull the factory turbo off, bolt the NX2 on, plumb the stock oil lines back up, and drive it.
The NX2 is the only Precision tier built for the 2.3L EcoBoost Focus RS — there’s no “Stage 2” step-up for this platform. To unlock more from the turbo, build out the supporting mods using the configuration dropdowns above the product overview.
The NX2 ceiling is 65 lb/min compressor airflow. Feed it cleanly — higher-flow intercooler, larger charge piping, a tuned BOV, and an aggressive ProCal/COBB calibration on E85 with methanol injection — and the turbo gives back 518 WHP at 93 octane (FFP-tested on a Focus RS, stock head + cams) and 500+ HP at the flywheel on E85.

Pull the stock turbo, bolt the NX2 in, reconnect everything. That’s it. No adapters, no custom piping, no engine harness work. Basic hand tools and a jack are enough — this has been done in home garages by first-time installers hundreds of times. The compressor housing bolts to the factory intercooler piping. The turbine housing bolts to the factory manifold. Oil feed and drain lines use factory fittings.
You’ll make meaningful gains on stock tuning, but we strongly recommend pairing the NX2 with a quality tune from a reputable shop to unlock its full potential — 518 HP on 93 octane with stock head and cams (FFP-tested on a Focus RS), and 500+ HP at the flywheel on E85 with the right tune.
Precision covers the NX2 with a full 1-year warranty, no-fault — meaning they back it even if the failure wasn’t a manufacturing defect. That’s how confident they are in the platform.
Function Factory Performance owns every turbo image on this page. Shot professionally in-house, on our own NX2 units. Unlike big-box vendors who list products they’ve never touched, we photograph, test, and stand behind every product we sell.
