The 2015 to 2023 Ford Mustang EcoBoost stock turbo is truly distinctive, thanks to its responsive and torquey twin-scroll design. However, the reverse rotation twin-scroll configuration makes it difficult for aftermarket upgrades to fit properly in the stock location. The answer to this challenge is the creation of an ingenious, all-new design that bolts on just like the stock turbo while providing the power capacity of an aftermarket upgrade. The billet compressor wheel of the NX2 has been thoughtfully crafted to ensure an optimal balance of peak power and response, allowing for a seamless integration into the stock turbo position. This turbocharger employs the latest generation blade aero technology, featuring 11 full blades (without splitters) for a maximum flow rate of 52 lb/min while spinning counterclockwise.

I didn’t make 500 WHP?
An XDI High-Pressure Fuel Pump 35, built block, and full bolt-ons will be required to achieve the maximum output levels of this turbocharger. Expect 380 WHP on 93 octane. 450 WHP on 91/93 + Methanol, 420 WHP E30 mix.

Do I need a tune?
Absolutely, we highly recommend that you choose our EMS Tuning option in the drop-downs above if you have purchased a COBB Accessport V3. We do NOT recommend any racing activity untuned. Function Factory Performance is not responsible for your engine, internals or tears if you do not choose to take our advice.

Do I need to make any modifications?
Zero cosmetic modifications will be needed to install this turbo kit. Install is about a 6/10 on the difficulty meter. To get the most performance out of this turbo, you will need an exhaust to help your Ecoboost breathe.

Is there turbo lag?
Yes, but Precision Turbo has provided the latest technology to wage war on this enemy. Featuring a twin-scroll turbine housing, billet compressor wheel, and dual ball bearing CHRA, driving characteristics are near stock.

What do I need to go fast?
How fast do you want to go? First off, you a need tuning device ASAP. Cobb V3 is the only device we recommend. If you’re looking for the most power, we recommend that you as well replace your entire exhaust system with a system included in our dropdown menu.

Will this ruin my car?
Nope, failure is 98% caused by improper tuning of our engines. We say 98% because there are always freak accidents. These are massed produced vehicles and things do happen. For peace of mind when getting tuned, trust the best and select our recommended tuner, PD Tuning.

I’m using the precision NX2 turbo with the Full Race intercooler, cpe meth charge pipes and Snow Sno-210 methanol system. I’m tuned by Ryan at PDTuning and we have taken my car and pushed it to the limits of the stock block! There is no lag and now pushing 26-29psi, the car pulls ALL THE WAY through the gears now. Not like the stock turbo where it would fall on its face after it just started to get fun. This turbo and supporting mods have shut up every person ever told me I should have bought a v8. Get one. But only if you want to go really fast.

I’ve been running the NX2 for a little over a year. The EcoBoost has full bolt on’s, tuned by PurpleDrank and also pushing Methanol. The power I’m getting out of this setup is honestly absurd for a 4cyl. I’ve had ZERO issues with this turbo setup and I’m very glad I went with the NX2. I’ve been teaching here and there and have been talking out some mean cars. I can’t say enough about this turbo, it really was easy to install and has completely changed the car. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants power out of their car without beaking the piggy bank.

Pretty easy and straightforward install minus the oil drain line. Really wakes the car up, got mine with the 19psi actuator and it holds boost all the way to redline without maxing out the turbo. can’t beat it for the price.

I want to thank Function Factory Performance for great experience. My son’s car was blowing grey/blue smoke from the exhaust upon start for the first several minutes. We investigated and determined the turbo was leaking oil and detecting the film from around the turbo. I researched online for turbo’s and decided to call Function Factory. They immediately answered the phone and was talking to someone live. After walking me through the process my son and I decided that we would take on the repairs ourselves and upgrade the turbo to a larger GEN2 drop in ready. The Cobb and a tune has to be purchased along with turbo which is done after the install. It took about 30 min to take the old turbo out, and about 30 min to put the new one in. I found a video online of the process and it worked identical to that. I do recommend how Function Factory suggested, and that was to take the oil outtake line from the block before placing the new turbo in. It was much easier making sure the valve was seated into the turbo slot correctly and securely. You do however need a small swivel adapter to get the bolts off and on the block. I can definitely recommend this to anyone needing to replace or upgrade their turbo. It took about 5 separate tunes, and now the car runs great. It’s smooth and has more power.

Rest assured, this turbo is engineered to work seamlessly with the stock engine. Damage should only occur if the installation is faulty or the tuning is incorrect.
