The PT5562 Gen 1 slots between the 5558 and 5862 in Precision’s CEA lineup. 55 mm compressor inducer mated to a 62 mm turbine wheel, 615 HP rating, and the same billet compressor technology that makes the bigger-frame Precisions work. If you’re building a 1.8–2.5L four-cylinder or a smaller six that wants faster top-end pull than the 5558 can deliver, this is the one.
Same 2618-aluminum billet CEA compressor as the bigger frames, scaled to 55 mm. Efficiency holds across a wider pressure ratio band than cast wheels of the same size, and the blade geometry keeps surge margin healthy even at high boost. The 62 mm turbine wheel (vs. 58 on the 5558) lets this turbo pull cleaner into the top RPM range.
Dual ceramic ball bearing CHRA. Sharp throttle response, street-car drivability, and the kind of boost-pressure headroom that a journal-bearing cartridge can’t touch. The bearing makes the bigger turbine wheel feel like it spools almost as quickly as the 5558.
Every PT5562 Gen 1 is hand-built in Hebron, Indiana. Dial in the four spec points above and Precision assembles your exact unit on the bench before it ships.
A/R is the single spec that most changes how the turbo drives. Lower A/R spools earlier and pulls hard in the midrange. Higher A/R trades some bottom-end response for extended top-end power. Rough rules for a 55 mm wheel:
